The pop-up Cinderella book is out now
My drawings come to life in a three-dimensional fairy tale
My pop-up Cinderella book is finally here, and the first edition is in Italian!
It’s published by
Fabbri Editori,
and seeing my drawings transform into three-dimensional elements that almost leap off the page is truly special.
Cinderella is a classic we all know, and the biggest challenge was reinterpreting it with fresh eyes.
And designing the pop-up mechanisms, but I was fortunate to work with the excellent pop-up engineer from the book’s English publisher,
North Parade Publishing.
Last spring, we went through several stages with plenty of discussions and feedback, carefully refining every detail — from developing original characters
(the stepsisters are my favorite!) to choosing the color palette and designing the complex pop-up mechanics.
This is how a new version of Cinderella’s family came to life, featuring a tiny fairy, a mouse-infested kitchen, a regal ballroom, an orange carriage, and a slightly clumsy prince.
The English edition hasn’t been released yet, but it should be coming soon. In the meantime, seeing my book on the shelves of local bookstores fills me with immense joy.
